Stewart's Shops has promoted Ryan Faville, a company veteran of nearly two decades, to vice president of marketing and category management, the Northeast convenience chain announced Thursday, Oct. 30, 2026.
Faville has run the chain's purchasing and category management teams since 2015. In the new role, he will oversee marketing and category management together. His mandate: expand the Stewart's brand and find opportunities to strengthen its offerings.
Who is Ryan Faville?
Faville joined Stewart's in 2008 as an accountant at the company's dairy and distribution center. Five years later he moved to the hauling department, where he led teams distributing milk, gas and products across the chain. Around that time he earned a Class A commercial license. According to the announcement, he did it to better understand the department he managed.
Stewart's Shops President Chad Kiesow praised the appointment in the announcement.
"Ryan has been an important part of the Stewart's team since he joined us right out of college," Kiesow said. "We have every confidence he will help Stewart's continue to grow as we expand our footprint and respond to the ever-changing needs and shopping habits of the communities we serve."
How big is the footprint Faville will help grow?
Stewart's operates approximately 400 shops across upstate New York, Vermont and New Hampshire. The chain has expanded steadily through organic growth and acquisitions, including its 2024 purchase of 45 Jolley stores.
The company plans to spend $55 million this year to grow and improve its c-store network. Recent moves include a planned two-story site in upstate New York, reported in April 2026.
Why the promotion matters
The appointment puts purchasing, category management and marketing under one leader who has worked across the company's dairy, distribution and hauling operations. That internal depth comes as Stewart's pushes its $55 million growth plan and integrates acquired locations.
For marketers and category managers at regional chains, the signal is clear: Stewart's is consolidating commercial decision-making as it scales toward a larger footprint, and it is doing so with leadership trained inside its own supply chain.
