UFP Packaging Rebrands Corrugated Unit as All Boxed Up
UFP Packaging has rebranded its four-year-old corrugated business as All Boxed Up and opened a Las Vegas plant, the market's first full corrugated converter.
At a glance
- UFP Packaging rebranded its corrugated unit as All Boxed Up, a name acquired with Titan Corrugated in 2022.
- A new box plant opened in Las Vegas this summer, the first full corrugated converting operation in that market, per VP Nick Hoffman.
- All Boxed Up operates three plants: Flower Mound, Texas; Jeffersonville, Indiana; and Las Vegas.
- Hoffman announced the rebrand in an Oct. 20 interview at Pack Expo.
UFP Packaging has rolled out the All Boxed Up brand across its box-making facilities and customer-facing channels, formalizing the expansion of a corrugated business it built four years ago. The name goes live as the company opens its third box plant, in Las Vegas, a market it says had no full corrugated converter until now.
The brand traces back to 2022, when UFP Packaging acquired Titan Corrugated and its distribution affiliate, All Boxed Up. "It has a great name in the Dallas market, and we want to expand it," said Nick Hoffman, vice president at UFP Packaging, in an Oct. 20 interview at Pack Expo.
Why a wood packaging company moved into boxes
Before the acquisition, UFP built its business on wood packaging. The corrugated push answers a gap the company saw in its own offer.
"Our philosophy was, we often build the pallet, we build the crate, but we're not building what's going in or on top of that pallet or crate," Hoffman said. "So we thought this is an extension, as we grow with national customers, to provide them with this value-add service that we provide on our traditional packaging side."
What the Las Vegas plant changes for customers
The new Las Vegas facility, opened this summer, joins the original All Boxed Up plant in Flower Mound, Texas, and a second site in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Hoffman called Las Vegas an underserved market and positioned UFP as a local first.
"We're the first manufacturer in that market for full corrugated converting," he said.
The plant relies on automation and robotics to shorten turnaround. "Our push for that is really so that we can add value to the market," Hoffman said. "What we've seen is it's now a 24-hour market," so shippers need product out quickly.
Local production also cuts transportation costs. Hoffman flagged record-high diesel prices and tariffs on packaging as pressures that make regional supply more valuable. Previously, much of the corrugated product reaching the Las Vegas area arrived from out of state.
Is more M&A coming?
UFP continues to watch for acquisitions in corrugated. "We're always in the market for good companies that fit with us," Hoffman said. Organic expansion, however, remains the main growth engine.
The rebrand carries a positioning goal as well. Hoffman said UFP Packaging wants recognition as a supplier bringing customer-centric change to the corrugated business.
"We also realize packaging's changing. Whether it be pushed by cost or whether it be pushed by tariffs or regulations, people are looking at things differently," he said. "So we're trying to be on the forefront of that."
For national customers already buying UFP pallets and crates, the message is straightforward: one supplier can now fill the box that sits on the pallet, with plants in Texas, Indiana and Nevada shortening the freight leg.
