Walmart Bundles Walmart+ and Sam's Club Plus for $120 a Year

Walmart will bundle Walmart+ and Sam's Club Plus into a $120 annual subscription, saving shoppers nearly $100 and adding four bundle-only perks, including a $60 T-Mobile gift card.

At a glance

  • Walmart will offer Walmart+ and Sam's Club Plus together for $120 a year, saving nearly $100 versus separate plans.
  • The bundle includes 26 perks, four of them exclusive, among them a $60 annual T-Mobile gift card.
  • Sam's Club Plus members can add Walmart+ at no extra cost; annual Walmart+ members pay $22 more per year.
  • The combined subscription includes Peacock or Paramount+ streaming and 10 cents off per gallon at 17,000+ stations.

Walmart will sell its Walmart+ and Sam's Club Plus memberships together for a single $120 annual fee, a bundle the company says saves subscribers nearly $100 versus buying the two programs separately.

The retailer ranks No. 2 in Digital Commerce 360's Top 1000 Database, which tracks North America's largest online retailers by annual ecommerce sales, and No. 37 in Digital Commerce 360 and ReFiBuy's AI Commerce Rankings.

"We're giving people a reason to expect more from their memberships," said John Furner, president and CEO at Walmart. "For $120 a year, we're raising expectations for what a membership can deliver: more money in their pockets and more time to call their own."

Ninety-eight dollars of savings is a straightforward pitch. The question is whether shoppers see two memberships where they used to see one.

What does the bundle include?

Walmart published a list of 26 perks in the combined offering, pulling from the standalone Walmart+ and Sam's Club Plus plans plus four benefits that exist only inside the bundle:

  • Pharmacy savings
  • Savings on optical and hearing
  • Early shopping
  • An annual $60 electronic gift card for T-Mobile

The T-Mobile gift card alone covers half the bundle's price. Someone who uses it is effectively paying $60 a year for the rest of the package.

Both programs already include free delivery options, and Walmart highlighted additional selling points in its announcement: streaming access to either Peacock or Paramount+, and savings of 10 cents a gallon at more than 17,000 participating stations.

What does this change for existing members?

The pricing depends on where a subscriber starts.

Current Walmart+ members on the annual plan will pay an additional $22 per year to add Sam's Club Plus. Sam's Club Plus members get the better deal: they can add Walmart+ at no extra cost. Sam's Club members who don't pay for Plus will be charged $60 more per year to add both memberships to their accounts.

That asymmetry is deliberate. Walmart is making the upgrade painless for its club members and nearly painless for its Walmart+ base, while giving standard Sam's Club shoppers a reason to move up two tiers at once.

Why Walmart is pushing the bundle now

Both programs have stacked on partner-funded perks in recent years to compete with Amazon Prime and Target Circle 360. The pattern is consistent: add a recognizable brand, give members a discount, repeat.

Sam's Club added Weight Watchers options to its program over the summer. In 2024, Walmart incorporated Burger King purchase savings into its memberships.

The bundle strategy follows the same logic at a larger scale. Instead of adding one partner perk at a time, Walmart is merging two paid ecosystems — grocery delivery, club pricing, fuel discounts, streaming — into a single $120 line item, with four exclusives reserved for people who take both.

For marketers, the signal is that Walmart intends to keep consolidating household spend behind one subscription. Rivals offering standalone memberships now compete against a bundle that effectively prices the second program at a discount — or, for Sam's Club Plus members, at nothing.
