At a glance

  • The partnership grew from 17 to 47 states, adding nearly 600 Costco warehouses to Uber Eats.
  • Eligible Costco members get 50% off the first year of Uber One and 20% off subsequent years; $100 Uber gift cards sell for $79.99 for a limited time.
  • Costco is already on Uber Eats in Canada, Mexico, Japan, Taiwan, France and Spain.

Uber Technologies and Costco Wholesale have expanded their delivery partnership from 17 states to 47, making nearly 600 Costco warehouses available through the Uber Eats app, the companies announced Wednesday.

The expansion opens on-demand and scheduled delivery of groceries, household items and bulk products to Costco members nationwide. The service previously operated in 17 states.

Customers need a Costco membership to place orders and must link their membership account at checkout. The app tracks orders in real time.

Both companies tied promotional deals to the rollout. Eligible Costco members get 50% off an annual Uber One membership for the first year and 20% off in subsequent years. Participating Costco warehouses and Costco's online store will sell $100 Uber gift cards for $79.99 for a limited time.

New customers can buy a Costco membership directly through Uber Eats and receive 30% off their first eligible order, also for a limited time. Uber One members pay no delivery fees on eligible grocery and retail orders over $60.

The partnership already reaches beyond the United States. Costco is available on Uber Eats in Canada, Mexico, Japan, Taiwan, France and Spain, signaling that the warehouse club treats third-party delivery as a core channel rather than a test.

For grocery retailers, the move raises the stakes in on-demand bulk delivery. A national network of nearly 600 warehouses gives Uber Eats immediate scale in club-format fulfillment, a segment competitors have struggled to crack.
