Amazon Serves a $25 Thanksgiving Meal With Same-Day Delivery
Amazon's $25 same-day Thanksgiving meal with an 8 lb. Butterball turkey undercuts grocers' sub-$40 bundles as perishables near $250B in sales.

At a glance
- Amazon is selling a full Thanksgiving meal for $25 with same-day delivery, available until Nov. 26.
- The bundle includes an 8 lb. Butterball turkey plus name-brand sides like Ocean Spray cranberry sauce and Stove Top stuffing.
- Additional deals include frozen turkey at 79 cents a pound and 40% off pre-made sides.
- CEO Andy Jassy said perishables and everyday essentials grossed close to $250 billion over the past year.
Amazon will deliver a full Thanksgiving dinner — turkey, sides, dessert and all — for $25, with same-day delivery thrown in free. That price undercuts most grocers' holiday bundles, which typically run under $40, and it's available through Nov. 26.
The kit is built around an 8 lb. Butterball frozen turkey and stacked with name brands: Ocean Spray jellied cranberry sauce, two McCormick turkey gravy packets, Stove Top turkey stuffing, Campbell's cream of mushroom soup, French's Crispy fried onions, Nestlé Carnation evaporated milk and two boxes of Kraft Mac & Cheese. Amazon's private label fills out the table with russet potatoes, two cans of whole kernel corn, whole carrots, two cans of cut green beans, crescent rolls, pie crusts and organic pumpkin puree. Amazon's announcement didn't say how many people the meal serves. Presumably a company that measures everything knows, and chose not to.
What's different from last year's deal?
Amazon ran a similar "Feed 5 for $25" Thanksgiving meal in 2025, also anchored by the 8 lb. Butterball turkey. The 2026 version shifts from convenience to cooking. Last year's bundle leaned heavily on ready-to-eat and ready-to-heat items, like Reser's homestyle stuffing and pies from select national brands. This year's box contains more raw ingredients, which suggests Amazon sees customers willing to do some of the work themselves if the price stays flat.
Beyond the big bundle
The $25 meal is the headline, but Amazon is discounting across the holiday run-up:
- Frozen turkey at 79 cents a pound
- Fresh turkey at 99 cents a pound
- Thanksgiving staples priced under $4
- 40% off charcuterie and pantry snacks
- 40% off pre-made sides
- 20% off select Hefty compostable plates, utensils and cups
- 20% off Ziploc containers and bags
The non-food discounts are a quiet acknowledgment that Thanksgiving costs money before the turkey hits the oven.
Why Amazon can afford the sharp pencil
The holiday push rides on a grocery business that's found its footing. Amazon has added perishables to same-day delivery, and CEO Andy Jassy told investors on the company's third-quarter earnings call last week that gross sales of perishables and everyday essentials totaled close to $250 billion over the past year. That's roughly two-thirds of what Americans spend on Thanksgiving travel each year, moved through one company's carts.
What does this change for grocers? A $25, same-day-delivered, name-brand holiday meal sets a floor that's hard to match for chains still competing at $40. Amazon has turned Thanksgiving dinner into a logistics story, and it has the $250 billion perishables engine to keep the price down.
